Art Practice
My work reflects an ongoing engagement with Native American historical research, using abstraction and geometry as a visual language to explore memory, displacement, and continuity. Rather than illustrating history literally, I translate researched narratives into forms, structures, and spatial relationships that invite reflection and reinterpretation. Through this process, history becomes something felt as much as it is seen.

Rooted in the tradition of history painting, my practice bridges past and present by merging cultural research with modernist abstraction. I draw inspiration from artists such as Kazimir Malevich, Leon Polk Smith, David Smith, Frank Stella, and Henri Matisse, as well as the architectural sensibilities of Antoni Gaudí and the color theory of Hans Hofmann. Their approaches to form, balance, and spatial tension inform my use of geometric systems and intuitive abstraction. By combining these influences, I aim to create work that honors Indigenous histories while situating them within a contemporary visual framework that emphasizes resilience, structure, and transformation.
About Me
I am an enrolled member of the federally recognized Delaware Tribe of Indians and Cherokee nation. Prior to coming to the arts, I worked in a variety of industries and served in the US Navy. Those experiences coupled with my design and art education from Pratt Institute became the foundation for my practice.
