Little Island New York City
In July 2021, collaborating with poet Rebecca Haff Lowry to create a series of paintings that visually represented the themes and beliefs of our peoples. This creative partnership fused the power of words with the expressive potential of visual art, offering a unique, immersive experience for the audience. The paintings served as a vibrant extension of the poetry, bringing the spoken word to life through the use of abstraction, color theory, and design elements. This collaboration is a testament to exploring and preserving cultural narratives through diverse artistic forms.

Information: Floral patterns reference Lenapehoking's indigenous tree leaves and corn. Repeating of four honors the four directions, additionally the numbers four, eight, and twelve are sacred to the Lenape. Surface is bumpy which imitates that of beading typically used in producing a bandolier bag.
